Purple Coffee (Ube Coffee)
What if your morning coffee turned purple? The purple coffee marries the intensity of espresso with the vanilla softness of ube.
A new-generation coffee latte, spectacular and comforting.

The coffee that turns purple
Ube softens coffee like few ingredients can.
Where espresso brings strength and bitterness, ube answers with its vanilla roundness and unique colour. The result: a soft, colourful coffee latte that breaks from the classics.
The purple coffee contains caffeine, from the espresso. Ube itself adds none: all the caffeine comes from the coffee.

The coffee-ube balance is key.
A single espresso is enough: any more and it covers the ube. Pour the coffee last, gently, to keep the lovely contrast between the purple and the colour of the coffee. Adjust the milk to the strength you want.
For a softer version, go heavy on the milk; for a more present coffee, reduce it slightly.

Your questions about the purple coffee.
Does the purple coffee contain caffeine?
Yes, from the espresso. Ube adds none: all the caffeine comes from the coffee.
How do you make an ube coffee?
Dissolve the ube in a little hot water, add the milk, then pour an espresso over the top. Stir and enjoy.
Can you make it iced?
Yes: cold milk over ice cubes, then espresso over the ube base for a lovely contrast.
Which coffee should you use?
An espresso or a strong coffee. Just one so as not to cover the ube.
Does ube change the taste of the coffee?
It softens and rounds it out, with vanilla notes, while giving it its purple colour.
