Ube Iced Matcha

Matcha’s deep green, ube’s luminous purple, layered over ice: the ube iced matcha is the most graphic drink of the summer.

Two powders, two colours, a single glass.

Ube iced matcha bicolore violet et vert, glacons, poudres, fond lin beige

The green-purple contrast in the glass

This drink plays on visual contrast: a base of green matcha, milk, then a purple ube base that pours in and layers up.

Matcha brings its vegetal note and gentle bitterness, ube its sweetness and opposite colour. The result is a spectacular, refreshing iced latte, as lovely to look at as to drink.

🍵 The seasonal moment

Matcha brings caffeine: this iced latte is perfect for a refreshing boost on summer afternoons.

The chef’s touch

The two-tone effect loves patience.

Whisk each powder well separately for two smooth bases. Pour them gently on either side of the ice to preserve the two layers. Well-chilled milk and plenty of ice keep the contrast longer.

👨‍🍳 The chef’s tip

A matcha whisk (chasen) gives a perfectly smooth green base, without lumps.
